Project Information

Dong Nai General Hospital is Vietnam’s first public–private partnership hospital, officially put into operation in April 2015 with the mission of improving the province’s healthcare quality while helping to reduce overcrowding at regional medical facilities.

The campus is modern, clean, and well-appointed, with wide, airy walkways and a spacious parking area. Electric shuttle vehicles operate continuously between buildings and treatment departments, allowing patients and their families to enjoy more convenient and comfortable access to healthcare services. What truly sets the hospital apart is its strong investment in elevators and escalators, designed with safety as the top priority and built to ensure service quality in line with the people-centered vision and direction of the hospital’s leadership and regulatory authorities. A range of standard hospital-specific features — such as DKO-TB, SDE, and HE-B — are integrated to support the fast, accurate, and reliable transportation of patients and medical equipment between floors, especially in emergency and urgent situations.

In April 2015, the people of Dong Nai Province welcomed a new hospital into operation — Dong Nai General Hospital, located on Dong Khoi Street, Tam Hoa Ward, Bien Hoa City. Built under a public–private cooperation model, it is also the first hospital in the country to apply a “no-queue” system through the use of information technology and modern infrastructure.

Dong Nai General Hospital is a large-scale medical facility with a total of 1,400 beds divided between two main blocks: Block A consists of 13 above-ground floors and 2 basement levels, while Block B consists of 18 above-ground floors and 1 basement level, all constructed to high international standards. Within the hospital, a wide range of equipment and facilities are provided to make patient visits more convenient and accessible, including electric shuttle vehicles that continuously operate between buildings and treatment departments. And of course, the Mitsubishi Electric elevator and escalator system plays an essential role in ensuring comfortable and smooth movement for patients and their families.

To optimize the distribution of passenger flow between floors, Dong Nai General Hospital has installed two S1000 ZJ-SE escalators to serve passengers traveling between the ground floor and the second floor. For higher levels, a comprehensive elevator system has been implemented, including 6 NEXIEZ-MRL elevators with a 1,050 kg capacity, 8 ELENESSA elevators with a 1,600 kg capacity, and 6 NEXIEZ-MR elevators with a 550 kg capacity. All of these elevators are manufactured and imported from Mitsubishi Electric’s AMEC factory in Thailand.

Elevators serving hospital environments are equipped with a range of support features to enhance operational efficiency and safety. These include FER and FE functions, which ensure automatic return to designated safe floors in the event of a fire and support firefighting operations. SR-2 Beams and SDE on both sides provide object and passenger detection during door closing, instantly reopening the doors to prevent contact or injury. The ITP (Inter-communication System) enables passengers inside the elevator to communicate with staff outside through an internal communication system. In addition, the elevators are equipped with card reader systems to further enhance security within the hospital.

The two passenger escalators are specially fitted with VVVF inverter control, enabling smooth, safe, and highly energy-efficient operation. Their speed can be adjusted according to usage density: when no passengers are present, the escalators automatically slow down or stop, consuming minimal energy, and when a passenger enters the detection zone, the system instantly restores normal operating speed to provide prompt service.

With its spacious and modern infrastructure combined with international-standard equipment, Dong Nai General Hospital stands as a leading model in the province for mobilizing social investment in the healthcare sector, guided by the noble mission of “serving the people.” With large-scale investment and a strong focus on modern and safe solutions, the hospital continues to enhance its medical capacity, significantly reduce patient overcrowding, and deliver satisfaction and peace of mind to all patients and families who place their trust in its care.
