Building Type: Hospital, Health Care
TC3 Street, Group 6, An Phuoc Neighborhood, Ben Cat Ward, Ho Chi Minh City
My Phuoc Hospital is built on a scale of one ground floor and six upper floors with a capacity of 500 beds. Every day, the hospital welcomes hundreds of patients for examination and treatment thanks to its modern investment in medical equipment and machinery, as well as its close cooperation with major hospitals in Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City.
Because the number of patients visiting the hospital each day is quite large and continues to increase over time, efficiently managing traffic flow within the hospital system is extremely important to ensure maximum convenience for patients. Currently, My Phuoc Hospital has 18 departments and 8 functional units distributed across 7 floors. To facilitate patient movement between floors, the hospital has chosen to install 6 NEXIEZ-MR elevator units (imported directly from Mitsubishi Electric’s AMEC factory in Thailand).
Of these, five elevators operate at an average speed of 90 meters per minute, and one operates at 60 meters per minute to serve a wide range of patients and visitors. In addition, the six elevator units are flexibly divided into two groups. The first group serves outpatients and their family members or caregivers. The second group is dedicated to inpatients and the medical staff working at the hospital.
In terms of special features, several functions are applied to both groups, such as FER (Fire Emergency Return) to evacuate passengers to a designated safe floor in the event of a fire. MBS-2D (Multi-Beam Door Sensor) uses infrared beams to help passengers enter and exit safely without door collisions. The Supervisory Panel displays the operating status of the elevators and allows remote control via a monitoring panel installed in locations such as the building’s control room.
In addition, there are specific features arranged for each group. For example, Double COP (dual control panels installed on both sides of the car) is applied to the elevators serving general passengers. Because the hospital is often crowded, the control panel can be blocked, making it difficult for people standing behind to select their desired floor. With panels installed on both sides, everyone can choose floors more easily. For the group serving patients and medical staff, a special feature is DKO-TB (Extended Door-Open Button), which allows the doors to remain open longer.
At My Phuoc Hospital, there are on average more than two emergency cases per day, each requiring rapid transport of patients to the operating room without wasting a single moment. Therefore, combining DKO-TB with the Supervisory Panel enables medical staff to quickly call an elevator in advance and transport patients in a timely manner, avoiding unnecessary waiting time or missed trips.
In 2016, My Phuoc Hospital planned to continue expanding with additional departments such as Neurosurgery and a convalescent care area for the elderly. As a result, the number of patients coming for examination and treatment is expected to increase. And certainly, the Mitsubishi Electric elevators serving the hospital will continue to contribute to making patient care more convenient and comfortable, while helping the medical staff perform their duties more effectively.
