Project Information

Tu Du Hospital is an exceptionally familiar name to the people of Ho Chi Minh City, especially to women. With nearly a century of history, it has welcomed countless new generations into the world. Located at 284 Cong Quynh Street, District 1, Tu Du Hospital is often the very first place families think of when preparing to welcome a little angel into their lives.

Today, Tu Du Hospital is recognized as the nation’s leading obstetrics hospital and the largest maternity and gynecology center in the Southern region. As a result, the number of expectant mothers coming here for examinations and care continues to grow significantly each year. Along with the renovation and construction of new departments for medical consultation and postnatal care, the hospital has become more modern and progressively enhanced its medical services to meet higher standards, better serving patient needs.

In particular, because pregnant women and new mothers are extremely sensitive and require the utmost care in their movements, the installation of elevators to support safe and convenient travel between floors is not only essential but must be given special attention. The elevators selected must meet the highest safety standards, as even the smallest error could affect the health and safety of both mother and baby. For this reason, Mitsubishi Electric elevators were chosen for their proven, optimal safety—an assurance that has been validated over many years by customers worldwide.

The Mitsubishi elevators installed at the hospital are distributed by our company and imported as complete units directly from Mitsubishi Electric’s AMEC factory in Thailand. These elevators feature capacities of 1,000 kg and above and are fully equipped with functions designed for efficient and safe operation. Among them, six elevators are dedicated to transporting patients and hospital beds, while three serve visitors and family members coming to provide care.

The features configured for these elevator systems include the most essential and widely used hospital elevator functions, such as DKO-TB and HE-B. In addition, the Hall Option Indicator “IN USE” is installed to help expectant mothers identify which elevator is approaching so they can move closer in advance, avoiding the need to rush at the last moment. The DKO-TB function keeps the doors open longer, allowing mothers to enter comfortably and safely. To further enhance safety, the SR-2BEAMS (Safety Ray – 2 Beams) system detects any obstacles as the doors are closing and immediately reopens them, preventing collisions that could endanger both mother and baby.

The HE-B function, activated by a specific key combination, bypasses external calls and prioritizes patient transport. This is especially valuable in emergency childbirth situations, ensuring patients are taken directly to the operating room without unnecessary stops. In addition to these features, the elevator cabins are equipped with handrails that provide stable support for mothers throughout the journey.

Alongside specialized hospital functions, these elevators are also equipped with essential safety features required in all buildings, including FER and FE. These two systems ensure user safety in the event of a fire. When activated, FER automatically returns the elevator to a designated floor to safely evacuate passengers and then halts operation. Subsequently, the FE function enables the elevators to respond exclusively to calls related to firefighting and rescue operations.

As the nation’s leading maternity hospital, Tu Du Hospital not only instills confidence in patients through the professional excellence of its medical staff, but also through the quality and safety of its facilities. Pregnant women and new mothers—whether giving birth naturally or by surgery—face some of their greatest challenges in mobility before and after fulfilling their maternal role. It is often said that pregnant women should “walk gently, speak softly, and smile gracefully.”

For mothers who undergo cesarean delivery, even the slightest movement can cause significant pain and discomfort. Understanding and embracing this reality, the choice and application of Mitsubishi Electric elevators contribute to safeguarding the well-being of mothers and beyond. Renowned for their smooth, vibration-free operation and shock-free start, Mitsubishi Electric elevators gently support every movement, helping to ease discomfort and leaving a lasting impression through their consistently reliable performance as they carry countless mothers and their beloved little angels to and from their destinations.
